WTF? Now I Know..

|

As I told you guys, I’ve always been on the road on 2004-2005, since I was actively involved with many of MOE’s curriculum reforms. Being on the go for MOE, I got myself into luxuries of staying in 5 stars hotel (where the course is conducted). I’m quite a meticulous person when it comes to my hotel room (not that I demanded RSVP service or that sort) but sometimes, hotel rooms can be er…comforting, luscious and rich..if not scary.

I remembered once, we were conducting a course in Perkasa Keningau and some of the participants went to me to complain about the hotel lacking rooms. I went to the front office and kindly asked the manager, and they said the hotel was full. Then came some reports from other teachers that the second floor was vacant. I was about to ask when a fellow JU cuts me off. He said to just leave it as it is. SO the unfortunate teachers were relocated to some other hotels around town.

So what gives? It is not until a hotelier friend of mine recently revealed this to me.

"For single hotels, there  is at least one permanent room which should be left vacant at all times. No matter how full the hotel is, they are not to sell that room(s) to any guest. It is said that the special room is reserved' for those 'special visitors'.  So, if you plan to stay in some hotel, always book in advance. Try to avoid walk-ins. If the receptionist tells you there's no more room available, do not insist to get one anymore or try to bribe them to give you a room. If you do that, most of the time the room you have will be that 'special room'.

"Sometimes those 'special visitors' might go to other rooms also, so here's some tips on how to protect yourself. "Before entering your room, always knock on the door first, even if you know the room is vacant.

"After you enter the room, if you feel very cold suddenly and have 'chicken spore', leave the room quietly immediately and go to the reception to  request to change room.  Most of the time, the receptionist will  understand what's happening.

"After you enter the room, immediately switch on all  of the lights, and open the curtain to let the

sunlight in.  "Before you go to bed, arrange your shoes so that one of them is upside down.. Some say this represents yin and yang to protect you while you're asleep.  "Always leave at least a lamp on while you're sleeping, preferably the toilet lamp. "If you' re staying a l one and they have give you a twin bed, do not sleep with the other bed vacant, try to put your things, like luggage, on the other bed before you sleep.   "Here's another tip. When  you enter your hotel room, look for the Bible. Most  hotels place the Bible inside a drawer, however,  if upon entering, you see the Bible on the table, DON'T STAY IN THAT ROOM.   It means 'special visitors' are there.

This happened to me when staying in one of those 5 stars hotel in Kota Kinabalu. I saw a bible lying ON THE TABLE and I thought it must be meant for reading ( I assumed it that way since western tourists flocked that hotel ~ and I thought ‘maybe some of ‘em do pray…)So I went and set it aside INTO THE DRAWER and made myself comfortable. And I was patting my self on the shoulder because it was so lucky of me to have the room ALL TO MYSELF. After the night slot, and a tummy full supper ( I gained 2 kgs in 3 days), I went back to my room and pampered myself in a tub of warm water. After replying to a few emails, going through with my presentations, and some other final checks, I decided to hit the sack..and then…

I Swore It wasn’t the Air Conditioner, because it was hell COLD that first night and it was as if there’s a FAN spinning at full speed above me. I don’t feel right, but neither was I felt spooked out of the situation. I simply switched on the table lamp, and turned on the telly, and it was gone…Shit, so this was the real deal all this while?

"If you see the Bible opened up on the table,LEAVE THAT ROOM IMMEDIATELY and request  for a change of room! It means the 'special visitor' is really creating trouble in that room!

Oh man... whats with the fonts? I'm not a guy who believe in superstitious thing. I do believe evil does exist in the form of spirit or things that people called ghost, but overcoming it doesnt have to be so hard and so much work. its all written in the Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth book, and you just need to do according to it. Do you really think that evil spirit will be afraid just by the ray of sunlight? A shoes that represent yin and yang? Emotions and feeling is strongly effected by our mindset of what we believe and choose to believe. I'm just saying, if you put your focus on the wrong thing that you will be afraid of what can go wrong, but instead you should put your focus on whats greater than anything, because He is greater than anything and He is on our side. So whats left for us to be afraid of?

Daniel, I'm so sorry about the fonts. I've been posting through Windows Live Writer and have had tried countless of times to change it but to no avail. Yep, I agree with you, God is even higher than these beings and mostly it's our mindset instead of direct perception towards things like that. But again, we're brought up where the living dead is almost a part of our culture, so my fear was aptly justified. There's another incidence I went through in Ruby Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, but that's another story..

Amanda: Knowing that 'that' thing is responsible for some strange happenings in your room after you've checked out is , for me, horrifying
